Popcorn crochet stitch hat

In this post, I want to show you this hat crocheted for daughter Constanza. She loves pink, so I decided to crochet her a hat in her favorite colour.

It is simple to crochet, and it only uses the popcorn stitch so, if you have been practicing this stitch, this hat will be easy and quick to crochet. The stitch gives a nice effect of volume. I loved it!

Here you can see the written instructions:

Granny square slippers

Granny square slippers

Over 20 years ago my grandmother gave me a pair of crocheted slippers that I wore until they broke old.

Luckily, instead of throwing them away, my mom kept one and gave it to me recently so I could use the pattern to crochet a pair for my daughters.

It is a very simple design, but with a beautiful result.

You only have to crochet 8 granny squares using the pattern and colour combination that you prefer (there are infinite combinations that you can do) and join them following a scheme. In the photos above you can see 2 versions, one for adults crocheted using a granny square pattern where the center is round; and one for children crocheted using the pattern of the classic granny square.

You can use single crochet stitch, slip stich or sew the squares to join them. The final result will be the same.

Here you can see the joining diagram:

Granny square slippers

The order to join the squares depends on what you prefer, you can start with the heel squares, the toe squares, in the sole. If you follow the diagram, the final result will be the same.

To make you easier to understand, here are a step by step with the order to join the squares that I found easier:

To adjust the size, you only have to add more rounds to the square.

Round crochet vest for girl: free pattern and tutorial

Round crochet vest for girl

In this post I want to show you this beautiful round vest that I made for my little princess Constanza.

I had seen models like this and I finally decided to crochet it. I found it very easy and quick to crochet, plus I used little material.

First, you have to crochet a rectangle and then 2 strips of chains that will form the armholes of the vest, from there you have to continue crocheting in the round until the desired size is reached.

This pattern can be adapted to any size, you just have to crochet a larger rectangle for the back and add more chains for the armholes, the rest of the steps are the same. In addition, the back can be crocheted using other stitches like: double crochet, single crochet, fantasy stitches, etc., and then crochet the rest of the vest using the pattern.

To make you easier to understand here is the tutorial to crochet this vest:

Crochet baby hexagon jacket: how to change the size

This post is for all those readers of the blog who consulted me about how to modify the size of the hexagon jacket. We know that if we add more rounds, we can increase the size of the hexagons, but there comes a point where we achieve the desired body size, but the sleeves are too wide , or vice versa, we have the desired width of the sleeves but the jacket is too narrow.

I will show you how, by changing 1 or 3 sides of the hexagon, we can change the shape of the jacket.

Here is the original jacket, without any modification:

Suppose that we want to modify the length of the jacket, the length of the sleeves, the width of the back or front leaving the rest unchanged. To do this you just have to modify one side of the jacket.

Graphically you will find it more clear:

Here you can see the different options. Depending on how you fold the hexagon will be the part of the jacket that you modify:

In the case that want to modify several sides at once, you just have to continue crocheting in 3 of the 6 sides of the hexagon.

This way you can modify the front, back and length at the same time, or the shoulders and sleeves. It depends on how you fold the hexagon to form the jacket.

Graphically:

Here you can see the pictures of the 2 options:

I hope you find this post clear and useful to crochet the jacket in all the sizes that you want.

Little girl crochet cardigan

In this ocasion,  I want to bring you the free crochet pattern and tutorial of this beautiful cardigan that I made for my little princess: my daughter Constanza. It’s a very simple pattern that begins with a yoke which is then divided in front, sleeves and back. The back and front are continued working on a stage and the sleeves in another.

I hope that the tutorial make it easier for beginners to understand how to work in crochet when we start with a yoke. It is specially thought for them, who often manage to crochet the yoke, but then find it difficult the division in the different parts.

To increase or decrease the size, you only have to change the number of chains of the yoke, always respecting the proportions of the original model.

Here is the tutorial:
