In this post I want to show you this lovely stitch. I found it on the web as strawberry stitch. The original version is crocheted in Tunisian Crochet and from the first time I see it, I knew that I have to try it in regular crochet. This is the final result.
It´s very easy to crochet, only uses single and double crochet. The most dificult part are the changes of colour. I choose to hide the yarn of the colour that I wasn´t using behind the stitches while I was crocheting to avoid cutting the yarn in each row. This I recommend for small projects, for bigger projects or if you just do not want to complicate, I recommend cutting the yarn and start each row with a new one.
Here you can see the charted pattern of this stitch:

I hope you like it and try new projects using this colorful stitch. Don´t forget to send me the pictures of your projects using this pattern to soledad@mundocrochet.com o share them in the facebook page of Mundo Crochet!

Bernie:
Thanks for your comment! For a bigger size you have to crochet a bigger rectangle for the back (widht=widht of your back; high enough so, when you crochet the chains for the armholes, enter your arms), and add more chains to make a bigger armhole The rest of the steps are the same.

i love this. thank you for the pattern and the pdf. im wanting to start a multi/mix stitch blanket and this is perfect to add! my question is what is the brand of red yarn used here? i cant find one with the specks of white.
Rebecca:
When I bought the yarn it had no label. For a similar yarn you can join 2 strands: one of red yarn and one of white or multicolor to get a similar effect.
